Todays work
the work in class today has been slower than planned but me and jordan are working away and completing what we have left to do. hopefully we should be able to put the presentatoin together.

still working away
i have been working on the slides for the presentation all is going well although i am having some trouble with the animation that i would like to include to show how the HUD will reacte when certain things happen, i have yet to make much progress on the scenery of the game but should be finished all by tomorow afternoon

weekends work
over the weekend i worked on the images and animations for the user interface. These being the health bar animation as the character looses health and the unlocking of special abilities. I have also put the design of the hud display together and will upload them to google docs soon. Today the plan for the group is to design and deligate the presentation slides between the group member and make some progress on the presentation

HUD design
Working on the Heads Up Display (HUD) for the game today , its coming along well. The software that i am using is Adobe Firworks CS5 as it has a broad range of tools and is relatively easy to use with some ecperience

Work to be submitted to google docs
i have some work regarding the surroundings of the game that i need to submit to google docs once i have finished structuring it, the information outlines mapping and the design of the builings etc.
Catch-up
I previously told the group i would be absent on the 08/11/2011 due to work commitments, i have read through the information that has been put onto google docs. The information is good and very clear and outlines the previously discussed possibilities for the game, including storyline, character surroundings etc. I will talk to the guys tomorow and find out if there is any more information that i have missed

planning
as a group we have brought all the idead together and have devided the task amongst ourselves, i will be concentrating on the environment of the game.
I brought up the subject of overcomplicating the game with the other members of the group, this could happen due to a mass of ideas and not enough comunication, we seem to have a more focused plan

I have had some catching up to do and after talking to my group and reviewing their blogs we have come to the conclusion that the map will be in the sandbox form allowing the player to roam freely. In the sandbox map the player will need to complete challenges to unlock more space on the map and to progress through the game

group work
I have been brought upto-date on the group task, the group is creating a zombie third person shooter sandbox style game. I will be responsible for researching and devoloping ideas for the environment of the game.
Attack of the Zombie Nuns
The game idea that i have been thinking of is called "Attack of the Zombie Nuns" which would be a first person shouter(FPS). The role of the gamer is to navigate their way through the vatican exterminating the zombie nuns that have taken over,the users end goal is to blow up the vatican from the centre to contain the zombie infection. The user will be armed with a small arsenal of weapons including handguns, machine guns, knifes and explosives to name a few. The screen will have the standard information for a FPS, this being a health bar, an ammo bar, and a compass to direct the player in the right direction.
